We were first brought into the wonderful world of Sin City with Succubus created by C.S. Anderson; a city where the wonder is never in short supply. Sin City Succubus saw a half human/ half warlock dabbler by the name of Robert Jones thrown into a dimension where werewolves, vampires, warlocks and goblins not only exist but are governed by the Grand Council. Sin City Angels brings angels and gods into the mix, including one angel that you should never betray. I don’t really read this genre much but C.S. Anderson continues to surprise me. In Sin City Angels, we go on another adventure and find ourselves tested with Robert Jones and other characters.

To the readers of the realms of action/adventure and mythical alike, you will enjoy this as much as the next game of Dungeons and Dragons… just minus the dragons. I can’t get into too many details with this one because it’s a lot shorter than Succubus, but be prepared to go through a lot of epic changes. Mr. Anderson combines a great sense of humor, non-stop action, a lot of magic and a bit of violence topped with a major surprise that is heart stopping in the much-anticipated sequel in the dabbler series. Robert Jones is back and something keeps coming after him for the things he has done in the past. But will it be enough to stop him from protecting the one he loves? Pick up a copy of Sin City Angels, book 2 in the Dabbler series today and find out!

The only thing I can say is that book two was too short for my liking, as a fan of the Sin City series; but it does make me anxiously wait to see how far Anderson will take it in the next installment, as he left Angels with a tease of what’s to come. C.S. Anderson is talented in many ways and I know that we will continue to see more magic, more surprises and much more devastation to come in the future of the Sin City books. I look forward to seeing more from Anderson and seeing where Robert’s journey leads to next.

WARNING: IF YOU ARE EASILY OFFENEDED, OR WEAK STOMACHED, PLEASE TURN AWAY! THIS BOOK IS NOT FOR YOU, UNLESS YOU WANT TO TEST YOUR INSIDES TO SEE IF THEY VACATE BY YOUR MOUTH!!!

Books like Puckered make me absolutely detest that I have the ability to picture scenes that I have read vividly in my mind. I loved every bit of this book although I really could have done without some of the visuals that appeared while reading. My son saw me reading this book and decided to come over to ask me ‘Daddy, what is that?’ I turned the book over and said ‘It is Puckered and it is definitely not a book for you.’ He looked at the cover and said ‘Ewwwww, I cannot like that; it’s nasty. It is smelly, it stinks Daddy,’ while he fanned his nose. My son is three. Yes, this book does stink- literally- by what the contents inside provide with the most putrid, smelly and grotesque situations that you could ever think of when it comes to a natural thing that everyone does- everyday.

Percival James is a man-child that lives with his mother who tries his best to get kicked out by doing everything that he is not supposed to do. You see, James has this fetish- a very weird fascination of being the one to hold the longest record. This fetish deals with fecal matter. Oh yes, David Owain Hughes and Peter Oliver Wonder took it there- but do not let that make you shy away from a beautifully crafted story of a shower of blood and fecal residue. James is one of the most vile, disgusting creations that God has ever made. You will be tested in many ways throughout this story while you read about a person that craves something that is so much more different from others. Will James hold the longest record before letting go too early? Find out yourself when you pick up your copy of Puckered, you will not regret it.

Through this story, some things made me laugh (I am somewhat sick in the head, so I found certain situations hilarious), but what made me actually laugh was because this book is so uniquely described by David Owain Hughes and Peter Oliver Wonder. Hughes and Wonder are perfect at constructing such an unparalleled story together. I did not know what to expect when this book arrived at my doorstep; I started to read and thought to myself, yep, they really took it there. Literally, this short is one of the best I’ve read all year. Not only is this story masterfully crafted, but it is one of the most disturbing and grotesque ones I have ever read because it deals with the evacuation of the bowels. A topic that most would not dare to write about for entertainment purposes. If you love to be challenged to read a story from start to finish, then you will love Hughes and Wonder in this epic ride of fecal matter with Percival James in Puckered.

I cannot place or compare Hughes and Wonder to anything that I have read so far- they are completely exceptional. My question to these two authors would be where they were when they came up with the idea for this. Puckered is in the top ten of the best and most challenging reads that I have come across yet. The skills and descriptions that they use to setup the scenes and the characters galvanized me. These two could have screwed up and made one of the worst books ever, but they produced one of the best fetish stories ever, that is purely and satisfying unique all the way around. I will always be looking forward to more from Hughes and Wonder in the future- I will have a section on my bookshelves to fill just for them.

Through life, we go through challenging events and some of the most incredible moments of our lives- a typical wedding day, for example; the most nervous event to happen in anyone’s life. The flowers have to be right; the ceremony has to be perfect- at least if the bride is a bridezilla. Slutty Bride by Ed Barr talks about the dark shadows that most do not venture into during a wedding scene. Join the tale of Caitlyn and David, as the events turn worse around every corner in the best event of David’s life. Ready to see what a Slutty Bride Caitlyn can be? Then you need to check this out. It is one of the best shorts I have read this year- there is violence, sex and blood all mixed in to one. Who can you trust is the main question in this short? Can you bear to see what will happen in Slutty Bride? Then go and see how hot it gets.

This is not the first I have read from Ed Barr; he is incredibly gifted at taking horror and mixing it well with erotica. I typically do not like reading erotica in general but when it comes to Barr, I am all over it. He has a knack for making things stick in your mind and never being unseen after you read the in depth detail of his scenes that will surely disturb you in every way. Barr will always fascinate me, looking over the brink of the threshold into other sides of horror. He is quite a talented writer and I will always be looking forward to more- waiting to fill my bookshelves with his books.

Lost Souls of Brunswick: Voodoo Lily series 1.5

Welcome to Brunswick! Brunswick is a state mental hospital where there is no shortage of registered guests. Have you ever wondered what happens with a soul becomes so uncontrollably malfunctioned in the madness of their own mind? Usually, either they snap or they falter and succumb to the ‘true reality’ of their darkened minds. Psychotic breakdowns are my favorite to read because anything and everything can happen. Abuse could have altered some of these souls or it could be that they just do not want to be bothered while they are in the zone of their own obsessions. Nightmares take the reign in the halls, rooms and corridors in Brunswick. Do you date to walk in these minds and find out how unfortunate souls end up living in the mental hospital for the rest of their days? Join Emery LeeAnn’s words and they will terrify you, chilling your skin and rattling your bones. You have been warned…

Emery LeeAnn is talented in many different ways but I do love her writing in every single way. I learned about her from her short story called Disturbed which I will never forget (I am waiting for more from that one). I give Brunswick a standing ovation loud enough for all to hear. I do not know why I started with this one instead of book 1 but I loved every single word; deep inside I felt bad for most of the characters (some of which were based on actual people). Emery’s ability allows for a connection between the characters and the reader, morally messing with your mind by wanting to stand beside some of the very strange and psychotic beings is fantastic. This is story of not just one but many that has me begging to read more in the Voodoo series. This will not be the last of LeeAnn’s work that I will read- in fact I’m off to read Lyssa’s Destruction, book 1 in series to see what new horror lies within the pages.

Excerpt:
“I stole a ghost.
I didn’t know it at the time. I didn’t even believe they existed.
It came with an old watch, and there was nothing about the antique timepiece that suggested it was haunted. The gold inlaid face and precise movement of the three hands spoke quality, as did its weight in my hand. I could tell it was expensive.
It was, but not financially.”
